The problem of recycling of garbage and human waste worries scientists and environmentalists in recent years more and more. Every day the humanity produces about 3.5 million tons of solid waste. Thus, the number of the world's population grows and that means that waste volumes will increase.
Recycling has become a sore necessity. The companies that specialize in recycling household waste were created to solve this problem. It is worth mention that not all waste can be recycled. Let’s consider the list of things that can be taken to the scrap.
Almost all metals are recycled perfectly. Subsequently, products are manufactured from them without compromising quality. Besides, recycling of metal products can save the irreplaceable natural resources. The demand for scrap around the world is enormous. For example, recycling of aluminum and cans is able to save about 95% of the energy that would be spent on the production of new can from iron ore. State of scrap metal does not matter. It may be rusty, shapeless things, burned things. The only exceptions are radioactive materials. They do not accept for processing.
2. Paper products
Paper and cardboard are perfect materials for recycling. Experts emphasize that only 1 ton of recycled paper products can save 17 trees. Making paper from recycled waste takes 40% less energy and a third less water. It should be noted that for recycling does not take:
• wet, dirty paper (napkins, toilet paper, packaging from the food);
• plastic-coated paper or waxed (food packaging);
• Self-adhesive paper;
• Carbon paper;
• Paper that has been subjected to chemical processing (fax paper).
Mainly in the reception centers accepts plastic recycled bottles of beverages (PET-bottles). Recycle waste plastic is vitally important because getting into the ground he is able to decompose the hundreds or even thousands of years, depending on its structure. After the processing of plastic bottles, you can get clothes, stationery, furniture and more.
For processing are suitable only glass bottles and jars. This packaging is made from pure materials - sand, soda ash, lime. But different bulbs and glass windows are made with the addition of various substances including special coating and are not accepted for the recycling.
Remember that 1 liter of oil is able to form a film on the water surface which will be the size of two football fields. That is why antifreeze, oil and other oily chemicals are prohibited to pour into water, ground or drains. Take them to a collection point for recycling. New oil or grease can be received from these wastes.
The electronic equipment usually contains large amounts of heavy metals. They can get into the soil once in a landfill. Best of all, you can break the electronics apart and send it for processing. You can sort the old technique for metals, plastic and glass.
Disposable batteries include hazardous components and cause great harm to nature. Batteries of different shapes and sizes contain lead, plastic and other metals. Take the batteries to the waste collection points.
8. Old clothes
After getting into the ground textiles are capable to decompose for hundreds of years, releasing a lot of harmful substances. When it comes to synthetic fabrics, the process could drag on even longer. If you do not intend to process your old clothes at home, you should give it to the collection point. Part of it is given to the needs of the poor, some are recycled.
9. Organic waste
Food waste is also accepted for processing. It is used by specialized recycling companies for manufacturing fertilizer. But there are products that could not be taken for recycling. They are:
• Egg yolks.
10. Old furniture or construction waste
Old furniture and waste from construction or repair are also taken for the recycling.
Everyone can help the Planet. You just need to look at the trash that you keep in the dark corners of the house. Do not throw it carelessly; let garbage works for the good of the Planet.
